Basil is a crop in the [[FARMING|FARMING]] Add-On, released in the Italian Update. It is a herb ingredient used in several Italian recipes and can be grown by players.

## **Functionality**
Basil can be used in the following recipes:

- [[Pesto|Pesto]]  

Basil grows through seven stages and reaches the height of one block when fully grown. Once mature, it can be harvested to obtain 1 × Basil and 2 × Basil Seeds.

A single Basil can also be converted into 1 × Basil Seed.

Basil can be planted on Farmland or Grass. Basil Seeds can also be obtained by breaking Grass blocks.

## **Obtaining**
Basil naturally generates in Plains, Forests, and Jungle Edge biomes. Once fully grown, harvesting Basil will return 1 × Basil and 2 × Basil Seeds.
